"Better Late Than Never,"
by Linda Moran, is the true story of potty training David, who has Down syndrome, at age eleven. It is written with levity, and will touch a nerve for anyone who loves someone with control issues. This article appeared in the summer 2004 issue of the "Down syndrome News—Volume 27, Number 4," published by the National Down Syndrome Congress. It has been reprinted three more times in newsletters of parent support groups across the United States.

"David!,"
by Madeline Moran, appeared in the June 2003 issue of Exceptional Parent magazine, on the sibling page. This first-person essay describes what it was like for this nine-year-old to have an older brother with Down syndrome.

"David and the World Trade Center,"
by Linda Moran, first appeared in the newsletter of the National Down syndrome Society in 2003, then in the newsletter of The Religion and Spirituality Division Quarterly. It has been reprinted twice more in newsletters of parent support goups across the United States. This tearful story describes how nine-year-old David, who has Down syndrome, touched the heart of a hurting woman after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

"Life Planners Newsletter,"
by Mike and Linda Moran, is a monthly column published on this Web site. The newsletter helps busy family members to slowly organize their thinking into what will eventually become their disabled family member's Life Plan. Mike and Linda Moran take the point of view that it can seem like an overwhelming task, but that it can be broken up into smaller, manageable projects over time.

"Outing My Kids,"
by Linda Moran, appeared in the March 2004 issue of Exceptional Parent magazine. This true-life story has attracted the attention of the National Down Syndrome Society and was reprinted on the NDSS Web site. The piece was also presented as a dramatic reading and workshop at the Spruce Lake Family Retreat in August 2004. The Family Retreat is sponsored by Joni and Friends, a Christian ministry that serves families with a disabled member.

"What is a Life Plan?,"
by Mike and Linda Moran, defines and explains the need for a Life Plan, also known as a Letter of Intent, which records everything you know about your disabled child or other disabled family member.
